As Legal Assistant, you will support our Head of Legal & Compliance as they begin to build out Leyton’s expanding Legal & Compliance function. You will primarily focus on helping Leyton meet the requirements of our anti-money laundering and data protection obligations, as well as reviewing, preparing and negotiating client engagement letters and NDAs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to support the effective management of these legal and regulatory matters, and as such this role requires a team player with excellent communication skills and an interest in and understanding of contract law. There will also be opportunities to support with process improvement, contract automation and business-wide training on relevant legal and regulatory matters as the Legal & Compliance function expands.
Training and support will be provided.
This is a hybrid role, min 3 days in the office per week.
Law Degree: A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent, or a non-law degree followed by a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) for non-law graduates.
Experience
We are looking for a promising legal mind, with a strong work ethic who has previous experience of contract amendments at volume, anti-money laundering checks and an interest in process improvement.
1-2 years’ experience in a corporate, professional services environment would be advantageous.
